Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about setting up unguessable URLs, encrypted clipboard synchronization, file sizes, and GDPR policy rules.
What is TransferClip?
TransferClip is a premium, fast, and secure online clipboard system designed to bridge data transfers across multiple devices (desktops, tablets, phones) without requiring user accounts or manual sync configurations.
How does it work?
When you access TransferClip, a unique, unguessable URL slug is generated dynamically. Any text pasted or files uploaded to this specific slug will instantly sync using server-sent events to all active devices viewing the exact same URL.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
TransferClip is 100% free with absolutely no registration required. Simply type or paste on our homepage, scan the resulting QR code or copy the address, and access your clipboard content from any other modern hardware device.
Are my files encrypted? How secure is the service?
All file transfers and raw clipboard sync events are channeled through secure SSL/TLS tunnels (HTTPS). Our endpoints enforce robust browser parameters to block common tracking exploits.
How long are clipboard files stored on your servers?
To maintain clean resources and complete data privacy, TransferClip enforces a strict auto-expiration rule: every inactive session, including all linked files and text, is wiped completely from servers after 24 hours of inactivity.
What is the upload limit?
Currently, users are allowed to upload multiple files up to a combined limit of 7 megabytes (7 MB). We support documents, raw code, images, audio, video files, logs, and spreadsheets.
How does the QR Code feature work?
When you are on your custom clipboard, we render a unique dynamic QR code matching your custom URL. Simply scan it with your phone's camera, and the mobile browser will load that exact same synced session instantly.
